Thanksgiving...

A year ago I was stressing out about finals and trying to keep as busy as humanly possible in order to ignore the fact that I had no idea when I would speak to My Love again. At this point he had been in Air Force Basic Military Training about 3 weeks. I got to speak to him on Thanksgiving and what I didn't know was that I wouldn't get to hear his voice again until Christmas day. A year later I've been married to My Love for 5 months and we are privileged to spend our first Christmas together as a married couple. After spending 5 months living together it's hard to believe that we "dated" for 2 years long distance. I love being married to him. I love watching him come in the back gate every evening. I love curling up on the opposite end of the couch every evening while we watch Stargate...and then falling asleep about halfway through the second episode. I absolutely adore falling asleep wrapped in his arms every night. There are days when I get upset with him and don't under stand why he does what he does. But there are just as many where I am more then aware of my inadequacies as a wife and how much I suck at cleaning my house. And more often then not the times that I'm upset with him has more to do with my attitude and how I react then something that he actually needs to change. But all in all I love every minute I get to spend with him. Every minute that we're NOT 500 miles apart. Being able to spend every day with him is amazing.

Random...

Here is another set of random photos...

One of our favorite pass times...Stargate SG-1

The lego starwars phase

Our neighborhood white squirrel

Assembling our kitchen table...it was a very exciting event.

Our special stuffed animals...together at last :)

Favorite Part of My Day...

There is one part of the day that I always look forward to. That would be the part where he gets home :)

The ever watched gate...

There he is!!

All the way in the gate :)

The "why are you taking pictures...and are you going to let me in the door" look :D

First Day...

Being a photographer and all I couldn't help but document Peter leaving for his first official day of work.

He looks so excited...

Hate to see him leave...love to watch him walk away...

And my Airman's off for his first day of work...sniff sniff

Food...

In the last few months I have learned a lot about cooking....mainly that I am not as good at is as I had hoped. I have boiled over so many pans of pasta water. My biggest achievement being burning ramen noodles...It takes real talent to burn ramen....something only a newlywed can do :) AND it set off BOTH smoke detectors... beat that!!
We've also had a lot of fun making various meals that are appealing to both of us. Pasta is a bit hit in our house. Along with grill cheese. Meals in which both of us participate in making. And for events...cupcakes of course :)

Peter making his famous garlic bread

...YUM...

Spaghetti of course to go with the bread :)

Mini grill cheese sandwiches

The perfect snack...or meal...depending on how many you eat

Corn on the cob

So juicy...

Chicken hamburger helper...some flavor with a lemonish topping...it actually tasted much better then it looks..

Drop biscuits...one of my specialties :) I do not believe that any biscuits have been sacrificed to the oven gods...yet...;-)

That was an awesome meal...

We like mini food :)

The most amazing brownie cupcakes with a peanut butter cream cheese frosting...sigh

Finishing touches

First official cooked meal in our first home. Sadly he got sick...that was his punishment for eating raw biscuit dough that had milk in it. He doesn't do that any more :)

Green Cross...

So, as some know Colorado is home to Medical Marijuana. Colorado Springs is no exception. It does not matter what part of town you are in you are bound to come across "green cross" establishments. While driving home one afternoon I took the opportunity to document as many green cross places that I could catch. :)

Clouds...

One of my favorite things about Colorado Springs is the clouds. When we first got here I was always looking at the clouds. Seeing as we got rain every afternoon the first two months we were here there were many photographic opportunities. And now my blogger followers get to witness my cloud obsession :)
